Support

Throughout this last week, the citizens of Arlington have turned out in tremendous numbers to support my stance against Open Carry Texas here in Arlington.  OCT's actions in the last Council meeting were such that, it was obvious that they couldn’t care less about the First Amendment nor the Second Amendment.  They were simply an unruly gang, stomping on the rights of others for their own benefit.

Encompassed in their pursuit of happiness, they have proceeded to taunt a women’s group that was for gun control.  They have disrespected our police officers by calling them thugs, they have violated our laws and been cited for that.  They have disrupted a public meeting of the City Council, and deprived me of my First Amendment rights while denigrating my marriage of 39 yrs.  Enough is enough.

This is a gang pure and simple.  But what is disturbing about this event, is that candidates for the House of Representatives and the State Senate have knowingly aligned themselves with this gang mentality.  Both Konni Burton and Tony Tinderholt have lead the assault on our way of life here in Arlington.  Their brazen disrespect for the sanctity of the Council Chamber and local government, have led me to do something that I have never done in my life.  As a conservative Republican, I am supporting a Democrat for the race in the 94th state congressional district.  I have met with Cole Ballweg several times and I have found him to be an intelligent, respectful small business owner here in Arlington.   I know that he has the demeanor to go to Austin and work across the aisle in such a fashion as to be appreciated by is counterparts.  With the outbursts of Cole’s opponent last Tuesday evening, I can assure you that Mr. Tinderholt cannot even control his temper and respect city government, much less that of a state venue.  Sending this individual to Austin is simply a mistake.

Mr. Tinderholt’s emotional imbalance is a matter of public record.  But beside his inability to keep his temper under control and his personal life in check, he has gone out of his way to support a gang and champion their cause.  Please don’t tell me it’s free speech, because it isn’t.  If that were the case he wouldn’t break the law by disrupting a government meeting of the Council, interrupting someone else while they are exercising their freedom of speech.  That would be hypocritical.  Mr. Tinderholt has already alienated himself from the City of Arlington’s government, please don’t send him to Austin and embarrass the citizens of Arlington at the state level.  Vote for Cole Ballweg.

I have also supported the campaign of Republican candidate for State Senate Mark Shelton.  Konni Burton is of the same ilk as Mr. Tinderholt.  She is also in support of the Open Carry Texas gang.  But with Ms. Burton you can also assure yourself that there will be no state funding for high speed rail from Dallas to Ft. Worth.  Both Kathryn Wilemon and I support Mark Shelton for State Senate.

  1. I too am a Shelton supporter and believe that his 25 years REAL business experience and level-headed mindset would be great for this district! I know I'll be voting and encouraging others to vote for Shelton!

    1. If Konni is such a staunch conservative, why doesn't she have a record of voting in Republican Primaries, or heck even general elections? Shelton has voting in Republican primaries for over 20yrs? If she is so knowledgeable why is she unable to understand that your right to bear arms (2nd amendment) is stated in the US Constitution. Last I checked she was running for the TEXAS senate. She clearly does NOT know what she is talking about and displays it in every debate. If people used platforms as boats Konni's would be full of water....oh wait she's against the water bill.... maybe not

    2. So Article 1, Section 23 of our state constitution means nothing?

    3. She acts like no one looks at youtube. I even found a interesting video. Why did she invited Kesha Rogers to speak https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=OX6AHMfofmA. She isn't even for the free market. Anyone voting for for Konni surely need to really look at people she invites to the NE Tarrant Tea Party.

  5. Good luck getting a Democrat elected in that House district. Also, good luck getting reelected with a stunt like this.

  6. If Charlie Parker is a conservative, then please define the term "conservative." It's election time, so everyone is a "conservative" and an avid supporter of the Bill of Rights blah blah blah. He sounds like a George Bush liberal to me.

  8. I will take this time to reply to all the Anonymous individuals in the comments section. I am a Conservative not a radical. I am for smaller government, fiscal restraint, less taxes, a free economy and against anything Pelosi or Reed. The idea that there is but one form of a Conservative point of view is childish.
I certainly am not for guns is governmental meetings and conversations in our streets. I am not for brandishing firearms in public and scaring citizens like this weekends episode at Jack in the Box. I am not for armed gangs roaming our streets, and I am also not for Freedom of Speech for whoever is loudest. This isn't a question of me being a Conservative or not, it is a matter of behavior comenserate with the proper way to get your point across without being a jerk. If you have to be a jerk to be a Conservative then count me out. But let me say this one last thing.
When you are sitting in a F-4 Phantom on the carrier deck located in the Straits of Hormuz, with 9,000 lbs of Jihad suppositories strapped under your wing, there isn't time to hug a tree. Now if you want to call me a Liberal then go ahead. That seems to be the only two attributes you possess, calling people names and scaring citizens because you think that is your Right. For all the people that have fought for those rights and given the ultimate sacrafice, I know that they are disappointed in the childish way you have acted.
I am supporting Cole, not because he has a D,R,L or C in a catagory. I am supporting the person because he can control emotions and has a capacity for the representational role. The other candidate doesn't have the capacity for either.

    2. You do know that the Fort Worth Police Department lied about employees hiding in Freezers... Jack in the Box made an official statement about this and said that is ridiculous.

    3. But that's cool, you have your gun in the cock pit of a plane :-).

    4. Yes I do have my gun in the cockpit of a plane, and a federal badge to go along with it. When the door is closed it's called concealed carry. However it is on my hip incase anyone tries to come through the door. You see I was carrying concealed under federal carry in the event of another 9-11. I wasn't with a bunch of other pilots marching up and down the concourse brandishing our firearms. I know that it's hard to comprehend the difference.
